“I wanted to investigate the landscape of Timberyard especially the trees, many of which, are very old. My nocturnal works reveal themselves over time and I prefer to see them as ‘appearances’ rather than images. Out of the weakening light, these penumberal landscapes seek to reveal themselves. When I am out there I can feel time both past and present beneath my feet.” Bill Jackson

Bill Jackson’s Continuum Residency film based on nightscape trees was seen by Bryter Music, the estate of singer-songwriter Nick Drake and Molly Drake. Bill was asked to make a shorter version of this evocative film to accompany Pink Moon, a song from the final album recorded by Nick before his untimely death in 1974. This film tribute launches the new YouTubeNick Drake Channel forming part of a larger music/film project by Bryter Music and Blue Raincoat Music.

Despite five short years of professional music making, Nick Drake's hauntingly beautiful lyrics still resonate today. He has influenced artists Robert Smith, David Sylvian, The Dream Academy, and The Black Crowes and is credited as being one of the most influential English singer-songwriters over the last 50 years.
